S/he
possesses proficiency and leadership skills in areas of organization
management; community and economic development; governmental, legislative and
political procedures; and community/economic research. The director works
independently and makes sound, good decisions. S/he writes and administers
grant applications related to economic development. This individual provides
excellent written and verbal communication skills, broad knowledge of a variety
of businesses and industries and displays strong, professional public relations
and community contacts. Essential are
time management skills and a flexible schedule for travel throughout the county
and beyond.

The Missouri Rural Enterprise and
Innovation Center (MREIC) is a new nonprofit, innovative economic
development agency located in
The Executive Director shall be an
experienced professional with at least 3 - 5 years of focused work in
innovation centers, business enterprise development, and/or
knowledge-intensive businesses and product development with a proven
track record of success in an environment of limited supervision. Other
required qualifications include significant grant writing and grant
administration experience as well a baccalaureate degree from an
accredited institution. Knowledge about existing state and federal
programs and agencies related to innovation and technology transfer is
preferred.
